An inevitable meeting : Festipot
Each year , we
organize at the Poterie de la Bâtisse an
international ceramic festival. We promote a country where ceramic is important
and where the traditions are preserved. Professionnals
and amateurs learn , during three days the ancient technics of potters came
from far away.
On Sunday, the site
open to everybody and all can discover the beauty of pots often make only with
the hands of the creator.
Since 2000, Festipot premits
to make discover traditions of Morocco, Burkina Faso, Dogon country, Mexico, Turkey, Ghana, Spain, Algeria, China and last
year Togo.
This year, India was
our guest and pleased us by the fineness of its work.
Two ceramists of
Rajasthan came to make discove their traditions :
making of bas-reliefs, icones of their gods.

Discover the authentic
atmosphere of an old workshop beautifully preserved and still used. You see the
daily work of potters : throwing the clay, enamalling
the pieces, the firing of pots transformed by very high temperature.
In family or in
groups, you will find the formula that is the most convenient. Simple visit or
training of making, everything is possible here.
